Ryn Gargulinski was born & razed (sic) in Michigan and promptly hopped a Greyhound to New York at the age of 18. She holds a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing, a license to sell Life Insurance in NY State, and Master’s in English literature with a thesis on the Folklore of New York City Subway Workers. Her writing and drawings have been widely published, both online and in print, with credits including New York Newsday, New York Press, Brooklyn Woman, Voices: The Journal of NY Folklore, Courier-Life Publications, Brooklyn Review, Curbside Review, Medicinal Purposes Literary Review, 12gauge.com, several anthologies, and cover and inside illustrations for Medicinal Purposes, The Manhattan Pet Gazette, and the Bengali poetry journal of Shabdaguchha. Her collections include four illustrated chapbooks, two collaborative CDs, an entire line of Lucky Voodoo Dolls®, a series of illustrated children’s and humor books, two of which – Bony Yoga and Rats Incredible – are slated for publication in 2005-6. |
